It was my privilege and pleasure to present at this year’s annual SAARMSTE conference. It was an honour listening and learning from scholars such as Kenneth Ngcoz, Heila Lotz-Sisitka, Martin Braund, Umesh Ramnarain and Ayanda Simayi to name but a few.
It is clear that we face many problems in the promotion of Science, Technology and Mathematics education in this country, however, it is also clear that there are many passionate educators who are committed to improving the quality of instruction.
Kenneth Ngcoz stated in his closing address that he would like to see more research into the role of the Arts in this regard…Yeah!

The conference was well organised, the presentations were professional and the SAARMSTE staff were always on hand to help. I particularly enjoyed the discussions that ensued after a presentation. Delegates were respectful and encouraging towards each other, asking poignant questions while encouraging debate.
I would liketo take this opportunity to thank the committee for their financial support and for facilitating such an incredible learning experience… I am truly grateful.
